What is a Doula?

  • A birth doula provides continuous support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period.

  • While your partner, healthcare provider, and nursing staff each play essential roles in your care, they may not always be able to offer uninterrupted, one-on-one support. A doula’s role is to be a consistent, steady presence—focused entirely on you and your experience from start to finish.

  • A doula does not replace a partner; rather, we work as a team. I help partners feel confident and involved, while ensuring you feel cared for in every moment. Together, we create a supportive, balanced space where your partner feels confident and you feel deeply cared for.

  • Doulas offer emotional, physical, and educational support. This can look like providing comfort measures during labor, offering reassurance and encouragement, and helping you understand your options so you can make informed decisions.

  • Doulas do NOT provide medical care or make medical decisions. Instead, we offer evidence-based information, help you explore your options, and support you in having open, meaningful conversations with your care providers, so that your voice & choice remain at the center of your experience.

We support you as you navigate pregnancy, labor, birth, and beyond.

We are there to help you have the most peaceful, empowering, and satisfying birth experience that you can - you deserve it.
